What is a piercing bump?

Many people believe that a piercing bump is a keloid however, in most cases it is a irritation bump which is a result of a trauma that has occurred to your piercing. Examples of this can include: Snagging your jewelry on clothing, sleeping on your piercing, hitting your piercing, etc.

While bumps and irritation can occur, it can usually be solved with an adjustment to care or potentially eliminating a factor that may be disrupting the healing process.
